Pin Drop
The Pin Drop was inspired by Jordy and team riders. They were looking for an all-round performance shortboard that would give them confidence in fast barreling reef breaks or hollow punchy beach breaks. We paid more attention by narrowing the outline and refined the rails down with a rounder “coin shape” from the bottom of the rail. This gives the board a more sensitive and positive feel in critical sections especially when the rail engages and cuts through the face of the wave.
The moderate nose lift and natural rocker throughout, combined with a deep concave running into a double concave through the fin area increases drive, lift and speed. Most important is the control which is due to the pulled in rounded pin tail which holds in bigger waves.
The outline is more streamlined, narrower, and is ideal for power hacks, carves, or critical pocket surfing.
We tucked the rail under more so the board is more forgiving on choppy faced waves and this eliminates bogging and catching.
The Pin Drop is best suited to quality waves, head high up to 8ft for intermediate to advanced pro surfers.
BOARD FEATURES
Moderate nose entry with a thicker upfront volume for easier padding into heaver waves.
Single concave running into a deep double concave with a added tail-flip that brings the board around quicker through turns.
A flatter mid-rift bottom deck that increases speed through those flatter sections.
Sensitive down soft rolled tuck-under bottom edge up in the nose area to avoid catching or bogging in heavy choppy wave facers.
